Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

Required Skills and Knowledge

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit, including evidence of the ability to:

identify and assess environmental and heritage concerns on at least two occasions, including:

identifying environmental and heritage issues or concerns

planning for, documenting and communicating environmental and heritage issues or concerns

identifying contaminants

removing and containing contaminants

reporting issues or concerns to the appropriate workplace authorities.

During the above, the candidate must:

locate and apply required documentation, policies and procedures and confirm that the work activity is compliant

implement the requirements, procedures and techniques for identifying and assessing environmental and heritage concerns

work with others to undertake and complete the planning and organisation of work that meets all of the required outcomes

communicate clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit, including knowledge of:
